I don’t know how many more times I can be here, for this long Skipping stones in someone else’s home, uh oh Punk Drug Dealer Keep me in your thoughts, cause i’m going under, uh oh Punk Drug Dealer Whistle cross the room, till I can’t see Anything, anything Somethings coming up and I don’t need it No I can’t feel it, whatever it is I remember keeping secrets with my mom Tellin’ her everything i’d done wrong And if these walls could talk, they would have some stories for her, uh oh Punk Drug Dealer Only if the smoke could be a mirror, uh oh Punk Drug Dealer Whistle cross the room, till I can’t see Anything, anything Somethings coming up and I don’t need it No I can’t feel it, whatever it is If I could I’d catch the next bus home And fall asleep in the seats A vinegar tongue rolling on my teeth For me For me Watching Moulin Rouge Like there’s meaning Like there’s meaning In anything Whistle cross the room, till I can’t see Anything, anything Somethings coming up and I don’t need it No I can’t feel it, whatever it is

I watched that movie you recommended me It was like a painting Monet came to my mind Not long after you When I called you were glad That I laughed at the funny bits And you were so broken up When the queens life turned to shit Then you made mention, of the wallpaper and dresses The post cards and lessons That were supposed to be sent Across the sea Across the sea Now i’m hanging on to songs Sung by people who are all dead and gone And each word rings Like a ghost story And we talked about that, and I think you laughed But I can’t tell the difference With all the static (When you’re) across the sea Across the sea I woke up and found you scattered on my wall (falling sort of thing) I woke up and found your shadow in a lighter, falling from the telephone wires And you complained there were some people who had been keeping you up for days And you complained there were some people who had been crawling around your rib cage You said they sounded just like fireworks Ringing in your ear You said “I cant wait to hear the airplanes drone, You know that nothing else feels like being alone (When you’re) Across the sea” Across the sea (When you’re) Across the sea Across the sea

Hot Cement 06:23
I gotta cold I gotta cold At least its something to Hold onto I gotta phone I gotta phone At least there’s someone to At least there’s someone to talk too I got places to be And I got faces to see Hopefully Hopefully Downtown and shivering North of where I’m living Oh no Here comes tomorrow When the snow starts to fall And the city feels flat And the salt trucks let their wheels melt Underneath the heat of the lamps You can see what’s happening You can see what’s happening You can see it all Not again with the delays Not again with the delays Watching each shuttle come into land Leave me here, leave me here, haunt me here Not again with the delays Watching each shuttle come into land Leave me here, leave me here, haunt me here Cause it’s a strange magic Cause it’s a strange magic Cause it’s a strange magic Cause it’s a strange magic You can see what’s happening You can see what’s happening You can see what’s happening You can see it On top of hot cement Folding where the day bends Watching what I can Twisting to get along

The desert will break and we’ll be lost for a year And I’m gonna make my way to a place That would make my mother’s skin crawl And find someone with a glow in their face And hear them talk I have no secrets I intend on keeping, uh oh And when it all turns to still images, just let me know So go ahead and dress me in what you’re wearing And kiss me clean until i’m out of synch with that song you’re singing She’s says she’d joke about more morbid things Like children dying while vacationing But she doesn’t want to take the chance On those words being her last Her last I have no secrets I intend on keeping, uh oh And when it all turns to still images, just let me know So go ahead and dress me in what you’re wearing And kiss me clean until i’m out of synch with that song you’re singing The sun looked like the ocean today Complete with the sailors getting drunk in the bay The coastguard said to give it a rest That the ocean won’t waste its time Going easy On me

On the other side of the exit sign There’s a snail and some fish paste That sit on tiles warped black and white For the dancers and their next drinks But thats all before the vomiting The car rides to show up late The morning stretches, the confetti cannons The cloth and the clean slate On the other side of the exit sign There’s a hotel for its last light Some breakfast in the lobby, some rain in the sewers And a howl that comes from the side of its gums But thats all before the vomiting The car rides to show up late The morning stretches, the confetti cannons The cloth and the clean slate But you know That’s all there is But you know That’s all there is But you know That’s all there is But you know That’s all there is But thats all before the vomiting The car rides to show up late The morning stretches, the confetti cannons The cloth and the clean slate

I’ve been livin’ by the Ocean Boards been growing Long Graves stitched together Graves stitched and sewn Bouncing between me and my home I’ve been livin’ by the Ocean Where faces fray before they Go Sweating in the vines Bleeding in the weeds Bouncing between the sand and me With a real effort of the jaw, you asked “Whats the rush? We got time on our hands” I don’t think its true Have you seen the news All we have is now I’ve been livin’ by the Ocean The water sitting just like Granite I’m gonna send my skin Where those surfers been I’m gonna walk my way right under those waves I won’t be back, you’ll see I won’t be back, you’ll see I won’t be back, you’ll see I won’t be back, you’ll see

Big wind for little cherry Coming home to watch the hairies Now Mother, don’t be so subtle I know the way you like to say double Don’t take it so serious Raising hell ain't like you raised us Small town in the blossoms Stay in bed with the possums Slim breeze and casting honey Cross the street with all your money Gotta love those local team losers Hanging their temples in the sewers Don’t smile, only hurry Hold on till the world gets blurry Something sudden and something fast Someone you used to know in the grass Old friends with wild scaries Nights off and tripping daisies Slurred words, they coulda came out better Simple storms, we thought we knew better Big lips coughing up creamer White sedans and tips from dealers Back again, before the runnin’ Waking up, carpet hummin’ Breakfast in the afternoon Screen flashing, the end is soon Well I guess, i’ve gone To the coast, to the odes Well I guess, i’m gone See you soon, again, next time, so Long

about

Staticshifter took about two years to form. It came from a lot of living and dying of sorts. A lot of silliness and such. Where on previous records we have used a lot of overdubs to make a fuller sound, we have tried stripping back our instrumentation to the essentials, that being, the voice, drums, guitar and the occasional demonic and festering synth.

A lot of these songs were born out of jams that Gabe and I would have in Gabe’s kitchen at the time as a way to push ourselves as musicians, producers and songwriters. The album itself was recorded in various apartments across Chicago and some of the vocals were done in my childhood bedroom in Livonia, Michigan.

Anyways, the album is out, it’s yours now, we hope you enjoy it, there are a lot of rockers on this one and a few crooners there too. I hope you bring your dancing shoes and dig in deep. Love ya and see you soon :-)
