Black Coffee 03:18
I don’t wanna sleep, that would be too easy I’ll sell the time, for future use To keep pushing through The lucid world around you Suppressed by the breeze It’s all black coffee to me This floor is gonna crack someday Between the pigeons and picture frames The hornets nests and death bed breaths Floating around, forging a ghost town Burning through the highways gaze Letting the light burst from the maze Oh Gabriella, before you move to fast Oh Gabriella, can’t you dance Did you bring me catastrophe And how is it as company Don’t sing me scripts All benches and beeswax All gasoline and sour grapes Colonial homes and marina gates I am here and I’m breathing I am here and i’ll be leaving Suspended in the breeze It’s all black coffee to me
2.
(Before The Morning) Before the morning, the stars were stalling Fixated on the grass The shapes were strange, forming from change As clear as the air and glass All these Freudian slips I can’t begin to explain She says “You’re lookin’ rough these days” I think I look the same Way past the evening, she said “You’re my father” I said “No, on my mother” The sundries of our shadows, moved through the mist Soon to decay and solipsist To late for an ending The stars will show again Her calls come in triplicates And fade into ambience (In Fredericksburg) I can’t fold now, that is weakness I can’t slow down, not now, not now Escape the lights, clinging to the air Avoid the noise cutting our ears Where is Anna? In Fredericksburg? In Fredericksburg? Ah
3.
I awoke to the mountains and their twists To ash and snow fallin’ I could hear the drums hummin’ I could see the slopes swimmin’ To watch the trees crumble down To watch the smoke merge with the clouds To watch the flames fever the town On the day Aspen, Colorado burned to the ground

Takoma Park 03:20
Before the flood, I was here It should have felt like the first time You get what you pay for I don’t accept the trains coming my way But i’ll ride them anyway It’s a stunning series of sounds Allowing for a sentence to be formed Day one, day two, day three, there’s more Just take it in, let it calm the nerves It should have felt like the last time But it felt like a tired song coming from a tired set of lips You get what you pay for When you’re spending time in Takoma Park

about

This record was written and recored between the summer of 2019 and early winter of 2020. We were fortunate enough to be brought on a tour with the great folks of Hospital Bracelet, where we met so many cool folks, both in bands and audiences. However, our last stop on the tour, Akron, Ohio, was crazy, we were unshowered, tired but beaming as usual to play.

Little did we know Akron would give us the most love in a tour filled with only loving people. We played our slated 30 minutes and said our thank yous and such and people demanded an encore. We obliged. Then we were again requested to play another encore, we again obliged. After a tour playing with so many bands and meeting so many supportive and wonderful people and feeling it come to the end was heavy, and feeling this huge dose of love and genuine appreciation from so many people right at the end in Akron was the best way that tour could have ended.

So this ones for you fine folks in Akron, Ohio. Keep on keeping on you wonderful people.
