Keeping up appearances with friends when I can
I apologize to the moths
They typically entertain me
They flutter between me, they flutter between me
They flutter between the mirror and bathroom sink
And I can’t believe
That they would stay here
Enclosed and entrapped
Deriving pleasure out of something more primal
Oh no, oh no
They’re uncurling their lips
In northern Michigan
Where factories speak softly
Cars pass by calmly
Oh no
Follow me, follow me, follow me, follow me

Flowers For Wayne
02:18
|
|||
Streaks of color dash above my head
I’m on a caravan
Bringing tomorrow to Wayne
So naked and scared as I recall
I remember running through these halls
Swimming near the ports of Mackinaw
The sun brushed against my hands
I bought some flowers for Wayne
I remember the skyscrapers
And how they shaped your speech
And by the late afternoon
I fell in debt to Wayne

Anthony
04:08
|

An alias constricted on greener days
Anthony, you will be forgotten
Within four years time
The younger generations will be rampant
Straining their voices
On a first name basis with convenience
Anthony, your coffee is still warm
Without cream and sugar cane
Just as you prefer
I saw it on the news
Sainte Anne lost her mind underneath a kitchen table
Unable, unwilling to move
Alone, parading semi-trucks
Anthony entertains midwest towns
A local master of script
In the pacific northwest
Anthony, your tea is growing cold
But in summer I know that’s your desire
Abstractions
Distractions

Leeches
02:48
|
|||
Leeches, leeches
Rolling in explosions
Surrounding sunlight
Butchering the willow trees
Sailors and boys
Loading their guns
They watch their words
Distort the summers warmth
Heavy breath lays bare
Employed to guilt
Passengers, prescription pills
Employed for thrill
Transpose your yellow blouse
Let it swell and drown
Circles and their counterparts
Force the roads to cars

Huron Road
02:27
|

Heat death relative to winter
We found birds in Heather’s hair
Bursting in their movements
Romantic in reflections
La, La, Da, Da.…
With lifted arms we sang
Above a landscape dreams create
With what remained of sunny days
We stayed afloat on Huron Road
La, La, Da, Da….

Titian Blonde
04:18
|
|||
Give me slow days with pastel color pallets and sailors wit
Where pelicans pray on passers by, nipping at their clothes and finger tips
Crustaceans gathering on rotten wood planks, the algae aging with grace
The brick of buildings former coming to terms with their new place
Thousands of chemicals, dark rooms and photography
The eastern seaboard scatters, floating in the weeds
Soft talk buried in its chest
Forgive me slow days, i’ll let you rest
